Evil Shades Haul and Review

Hey guys
Back again!
After i published my last post i went outside and what do u think i found on my doorstep?
My Evil Shades order!
I actually ripped open the box the second i saw it - i was that excited after seeing Phyrra use some of their shades, i was pretty much keeping my ears out for the postman everyday till he finally dropped it off ^_^
The things i ordered were:
- A complete sample set of all 15 shadows they offered
- 3 of their lip glosses

There were so many that i swatched them in colour groups (i don't know why colours just seemed logical).

(From Left to Right) Sinister, Banshee, Acolyte, Abyss, Mysteria, Suffocation

Panic, Zombie, Coffin, Erinnye
Coffin and Erinnye confused me for a bit when i swatched them. I thought that i had swatched the same colour twice but when i moved it under the light i saw the Erinnye had more a dark copper undertone to it and a lot of silver sparkles while Coffin was a bit lighter and had a satin finish to it.

Moonlight, Silver Bullet
This was really annoying to photograph - basically Silver Bullet is more a platinum silver than white that this showing.

Double Barrel, 13th Hour, Devils Bonfire, Venom
Double Barrel and 13th Hour was another confusion for me lol. But even though this photo doesn't show it, 13th Hour actually has a really pretty purple finish to it that comes up in different lights - i just couldn't get my camera to capture it =(

13th Hour, Venom, Lethal Kiss
When applied onto my lips these aren't so pigmented, they give more of a "stained" effect. However i still really like them. They are really smooth, and super moisturising believe it or not. Sadly their staying power isn't all that good but honestly i don't really care, i still love them.

Overall i really like this company. They have fantastic products, their comunication is excellent and their shipping is also really fast. ow did i mention how affordable they are?
It's run by Evil Angel (check out her blog!), and she makes all the products herself. Including some really cute jewellery that's just been released. The colours are amazingly pigmented, all these swatches only took a minuscule amount of product applied with my pinky finger :)
I'm really looking forward to using these shadows and i will be looking for an excuse to go out just so i can wear them ^_^

Have any of you bought anything from Evil Shades? What did you get? What other indie cosmetics companies do you purchase from? Would love to hear your thoughts

xx

This is just a lil something for my favourite B-tard ^_^

Sinner or Saint?

Hey guys,
Today i just wanted to pop on and share something with you that i found in Target the other day.
Its by a brand called Sinner or Saint. Mostly they sell kinda cheap packages and like gift set sorta things but they do offer this a really neat little set of 12 "eye shadow dusts" for $20.  The had some testers out of a few of the colours and when i swatched them i was really suprised by the pigmentation and colour payoff from the shadows, so i grabbed one.

This is what the outside of the box looks like. The doors are held together buy a magnet.
Each of the shadows have their own little compartment - the was soem little plastic holders for each of them but i didnt like it so i took them out.

Sadly none of the colours are named so thats a bit annoying but ow well.

These are all swatched over BARE SKIN - no primer or foundation.

Pros:
  • Each pot contains 1.8g of product
  • Highly Pigmented
  • Super Sparkley
  • Great colour payoff
  • Really cheap - works out about $1.67 per jar
Cons:
  • They don't come with a sifter
  • Are most likely just repackaged mica (the ingredients listing on the back of the box suggests this)
  • The darker colours (black/pewter and navy blue) stain the skin so you have to wear a good primer
Overall i really like these colours. they were a good price and i think would be really good if you're just starting out with loose shadows or are wanting to get a present for somebody who is just starting to get into makeup and such.

Hope you enjoyed this little semi-review and swatches and ill speak to you all soon.

Emo Smokey Eyes

Hey Guys,

Yesterday my sister asked me to do a dramatic and dark smokey eye for our formal (in case you're questioning this - i am a twin) so i decided to practice on myself and get a feel for using the dark colours she picked out.
I personally don't like this look on me - i think its too dark and i think i look really emo lol but whatever somebody else might like it ^_^

FACE:

- Savvy Pressed Powder, Dark
- Contour & Blush Palette (see eBay tag) for contouring and highlighting
- Fyrinnae Glow Blush, Intrigue

LIPS:
- Black eyeliner (yes Black! lol) very LIGHTLY line and fill in lips (i used a cotton bud to smudge the edges so they weren't harsh)
- The Body Shop Colour glide Lip Colour, 21 Soft Red

EYES:

- Coastal Scents Gel Liner, True Black, all over lid and lower lash line - smudged into crease with finger
- Models Prefer 30 Shadow Palette, the darkest shades - the black with a hint of blue (2nd along the top) and a plain black with some silver glitter (2nd along the bottom)
- The first shade (black + blue) patted across the lid and in the lower lash line
- The second shade (black + glitter) placed into the crease
- Using both a slightly angled fluffy brush, and the crease brush from Fyrinnae, blend the two shades together concentrating in the outer V area
- White Shadow with a blue duo-chrome (also from Models Prefer Palette) used as inner corner highlight and brow highlight.

(hehe lol lazy looking eye)

Please excuse the bad eyebrows i wasn't going anywhere so i just really couldn't be bothered to do them ^_^

This was my first attempt at something this dark, its not perfect obviously, but doesn't really matter...

A quick recap...

Hey guys,
Just to let you know I wont be able to post very often for the next few weeks as i need to spend the majority of my time studying (ew ew ew)

i did manage to splurge this week on a few online stores, so ill put up swatches of those when i get them. I'm getting a few things from Glamour Doll Eyes, Fyrinnae, NYX and a seller on EBay.

This is the first time I've bought anything from Glamour Doll Eyes and i will definitely be letting you guys know my thoughts on their products and service.

But until the postman starts dropping goodie bags into my letterbox I wont be doing much posting - maybe a FOTD when i decide to go out.

Time for a change...

Hey guys

This morning i decided to change my hair colour (again!) its now red.

As much as i love the purple and pink its just too much effort to maintain and as we are heading into summer (and end of year exams) I'm not going to have the time to keep dying it every 2 weeks. Red at least will eventually fade down to hot pink if i leave it for a while.
Before i started this morning i decided to take some before and after shots so you can see the change...

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I dyed the red directly over the purple and pink using Schwarzkopf no. 43 Red Passion with a little bit of Fudge Paintbox "Raspberry Beret" mixed in with the red.

After washing a towel drying my hair i always put in a leave in moisturiser, my favourite one ever has got to be De Lorenzo Rejuven8 The Ends - smells absolutely amazing (blackberries and bilberries apparently) and reduces the fuzziness of my dry hair after dying.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Review

Hey guys

Lol at the length of this title - i couldn't think of a way to shorten it..ow well

As you may already know i live in Australia (der!). Right know we are heading into the summer season and its already getting ridiculously hot and lots of people, i myself included, are already getting sunburned =(

I know it sounds stupid and its pretty obvious that if you're getting burnt you should put on sunscreen right? Well sadly i don't like the greasy feeling that you get from wearing sunscreen (seriously, does anyone?) so i generally avoid putting it on my face. A few weeks ago my mum was out shopping an she picked up this awesome new product from Neutrogena, its a Dry-touch 30+spf sunscreen lotion. When i first saw i was like "yeah, as if that's going to work" but when i tried i was totally amazed. It seriously rubs into your skin without leaving any oily/greasy feeling and is so lightweight you can't even tell you're wearing it!

I've tested it out a few times by wearing both my normal foundation and a face powder on top of it to see if it caused the makeup to cake and rub off during the day and it made me so excited to find out that all my makeup stayed perfect throughout the day and it even stopped the oilyness i get in my t-zone on hot days from seeping through my primer!
I'm not sure how much it actually is because i don't have the receipt but honestly for sun protection that doesn't leave you're skin feeling oily and disgusting (and that still allows you to wear makeup on top) who cares?

I will definatly be buying this again and i highly recommend it to anybody who wants to protect their skin from the sun (remember guys sun exposure gives you wrinkles at a younger age!!!)

A Quick Update!

Hey guys
Sorry ive gone MIA again, life has kinda taken over again so i havent been able to post anything for a few days.
But i do have some things coming up for you
- new Fyrinnae Haul
- Some product reviews
- lots of new looks (of course)

So hope u all stay tuned and i will be back very soon

Fyrinnae Haul!

Hey everyone,

So some time last week i received my order from Fyrinnae. This time around i picked up a few more colours from their Halloween Collection which I'm really liking at the moment.

Most of the shades are a bit darker than what i would usually wear but i think they are all still really nice and fun ^_^

LINE 1 - Crease Brush, Paranormal Pink Liner
LINE 2 - Blue Whale, Mystic (Arcane Magic Free Sample), New Moon's Light, Envy Me
LINE 3 - Banana Mochi, Princess of Darkness, Mephisto, Treacle-Well

Line 2 Swatch (bottom to top) - I really love how Blue Whale is supper shimmery and intense. I think Envy Me will become my new highlight colour just because it blends into my skin tone so well lol. New Moon's Light was a bit hard to work with but the colour is still beautiful

Line 3 swatch (bottom to top) - i absolutely love these colours so much. They are supper bright but also aren't overpoweringly shimmery which can sometimes be a little scary, for me at least.
Fyrinnae have also announced another set of colours coming out for the Halloween Collection, the pictures on their blog look amazing so I'll probably be picking up a few more things from them again pretty soon.
