Venomous Cosmetics Haul & Review

Hey Guys,

A couple weeks ago I made a purchase from Venomous Cosmetics - picking up a few Loose Shadow Samples and some Pressed Shadows as well as a Lip Poison. Tracy (the owner) was a few days late in shipping my order and was nice enough to throw in a whole heap of extra sample baggies for me =)

All swatches are applied dry over foundation

Loose Shadows Samples:

Each contain all the ingredients listed below the name

Sunspot, Boomslang, Rosie, Bravest Astronaut

Beaches in Maui, Faraway Galaxy, Blue-Ringed Octopus, Pegasus
Platypus, Gila Monster, Monster Under Your Bed, Green Mamba

Swatches

(same order as written above)

Pressed Shadow Samples: (the palette shown here is sold separately)

Samples are all labelled with their colour codes - letter indicates the collection and number is the number of the shadow

The palletes hold upto 25 sample shadows and 9 of the regular sizes

Centipede, Extraterrestrial, Solar Flare, Ogopogo, Jersey Devil
Sea Urchin, Can't Give You Paris, Tazelwurm, Margaritas in Mexico City, Mermaid, Gremlin

(Same order as above)

Lip Poison:

Couldn't get my camera to capture this very well but this is seriously one bright ass pink and opaque in 2 swipes =)

My Review:

Im IN LOVE! These shadows are so beautifully pigmented and come in such a wide range of colours. I especially love the idea that they offer pressed shadows. The press shadows are on the softer side so you do have to be careful no the stab them.
The prices of the products are amazing too
Pressed Samples - $2.00
Pressed Full Sizes - $6.50
LS Samples - $1 (baggie)
LS Full Sizes - $ 6.50 (jar with a sifter)
Lip Poison Sample - $3.50
Lip Poison Full Size - $5.00

The website was super easy to navigate (always a plus) as was the checkout. Shipping costs were also really cheap, it was $4USD to ship to Australia.

The only downside is that I can see so far is that I don't like how the pressed samples are labelled with the letters and numbers because im hopeless and can never remember what they stand for. Ow well, its not like you can write the name on those little pans =P

Have you guys tried any of the Venomous Cosmetics products? what do u think of them?

Hi-Fi Cosmetics swatches and Mini Review

Hey guys!

A while ago I placed my first order with Hi-Fi Cosmetics. I got the 20 sample pack and one of their lip glazers. When i got my package there were a few extra sample shadows along with the 20 I had already ordered. Unfortunately the Lip Glaze wasn’t in the order. I emailed Veronica of Hi-Fi about the missing item in the order and I received a reply very quickly saying she was sorry and that she would send one out with a few extras for the inconvenience. I thought this was very nice of her and I think that what she sent me with the missing item was extremely generous (2 full sized shadows, 5 extra sample baggies and an extra lip glazer)

Anyways here are photos of my Hi-Fi collection, along with swatches and a mini review for you all

Swatches:

Line 1: In Bloom, Punk Rocker, Live By Passion, Bounce, Pixies, Things That Cannot Speak, Eat Me Drink Me.

Line 2: Rising Tide, Queen Of Disaster, Cheap Tricks, The Cyanide You Drank, The Jungle, Unpredictable (Paparazzi Flash Glitter, applied over Pixie Epoxy), Arsonist

Line 3: Mind Manipulation, Living Fire, Pointless Intervention, Hot Rod, Sugar, Lyrical Master, Kiss In The Sand

Line 4: Bad Seed, Wanted, Us Or The Hatchet, Swimming Through Ashes, Blackened Soul.

Full Sized Shadows: Don’t Forget The Violence, Forsaken, Old Fashion Fascism

Lip Glazers:

Pros:

- All the shadows are highly pigment
- Easy to apply (not chalky)
- Fairly Cheap; a 20 sample collection is only $14.99USD
- Hi-Fi customer service is excellent
- there is a huuuge range of colours (over 180)

Cons:

- International Shipping can take a while (about 3 weeks) but it’s totally worth it

I was extremly happy with my Hi-Fi Cosmetics purchase, i will definatly be purchasing from them again
Im most interested in grabbing the:
- High Impact Shadow Fix
- Beat Box Shadow
- Amore Gel Blush
-Fat Tuesday Eye Glitter
- New Age Eye Glitter
- Art Is Forever Lip Glaze
- On A Bender Lip Glaze

I apologise for my photos being against a blue background, i didnt realise when i was taking them that it would give then a blue colour, ow well. If you want any close-ups of any of the colours let me know in the comments below and i will be more than happy to post more pictures for you ^_^

Skin MD Review

Hey Guys,

A few months ago i was sent for review the "Sheilding Lotion" from Skin MD Natural company. Id just like to state that although i was sent this product for review it will not affect my opinion and the outcome of this review. XD

And now onto the review:

This is what Skin MD has to say about their product:
"Skin MD Natural is a shielding lotion, a very special type of lotion helping the skin restore its integrity, enhance its protective functions so that the skin is able to heal naturally and regain its youthful appearance. Skin MD Natural works by bonding with cells of the skin's outermost layer to form what works as an invisible shield. This layer of protection prevents environmental irritants and pollutants from penetrating the skin, while sealing in the skin's own natural oils and moisture, helping resolve the dry skin condition"

My Results and the general gist of the product:-
While i've been using the lotion i've had some mixed results. Initially it was fantastic, when i used it my skin felt smooth, soft and moisturised. I loved how quickly it soaked into the skin and the almost matte finish i got with. I first started using this every morning before applying my makeup and each night as a night creme. I also used the lotion in really dry areas of my body such as my elbows, knees, hands and feet. Within the first few uses of the lotion i noticed an immediate difference in my skin =D
However, after i moved my skin broke out like crazy and became really greasy - this was NOT from the lotion itself it was from stress and climate change. I stopped using it on my face but i continued to use it on my other dry areas. My skin has finally balanced itself back out since then and im back to using the lotion on my face. I now mainly use it once a day (at night) after i use my cleanser and ive found that even after a nights sleep i wake up and my skin isnt greasy, it feels smooth and clean.
Another thing that i've noticed while using this product is that my skin is breaking out less. Because its a sheilding lotion the "barrier" that it creates on the skin prevents makeup and grime from everyday life from seeping into your pores and clogging them (yaayy!) which in the end improves the condition of your skin

Pricing and Product Amount:-
I was sent a full sized bottle to sample, which is normally $18USD (+ 9.85USD Postage) and you get 120mL, or 4Oz, of product in the bottle. - This will last you a looooong time as you only a small amount to cover a decent area of skin. The lovely folks at Skin MD Natural also created a discount code for my readers, just type in UNLACED in the promo section to recieve 20% off your purchase =D

I dont really have any cons about this poduct - except the pricing is a little steep, but that being said i would still purchase this product again when my bottle runs out because its just fantastic.

Thats it for this review, hope you guys liked it and if you have any questions or know of a similar product let me know in comment

Glamour Doll Eyes Swatches and Initial Thoughts

Hey everyone

If you remember a while ago i purchased a few samples from Glamour Doll Eyes. I finally recieved my order today after waiting 12 days for it to arrive in the post.

At this point in time I dont know if i will be ordering from them again as it did take a month to process my order and send it, even though at the time my order was placed their site stated it would only take 2 weeks to process orders. =/ However i did notice that the week after i placed my order the processing time on their site had chaned to 2-4 weeks, so i guess they got really busy over Halloween.

So all together i grabbed 13 samples, it worked out cheaper to get the colours i wanted in her collections that get them individually so i opted for that.
*colour descriptions are taken straight from the Glamour Dolls website*

- The Jelly Beans Collection [sadly this collection isn't being offered anymore]
  >Strawberry Cupcake: pretty pink not too bright and not too light
  > Pixie: (couldnt find a proper description) shimmery pink with a slight peach tinge
  > Blueberry Lush: bright blue with medium sheen
  > Sugar Plum: gorgeous light purple

  > Gold Digger: gold
  > Graffiti: matte black with lime glitter

- Bad Gal Collection
  > Violet: pale violet
  > Secretive: soft pink with low sheen
  > Dirty Jeans:  teal grean that rubs into a blue-green with gold hues
  > Leather & Lace: matte black with pink glitter

- Geeky But Glam Collection
  > Fabulous!: an amazing teal
  > Sterling Gitz: a silvery diamond glitter shade
  > Pinky Swear: bright fuschia with pearl finish
  > Glam Girl: super bright purple

- Fabulous!(individual sample) - teal

Line1: Leather & Lace, Sterling Glitz, Graffiti, Gold Digger
Line2: Blueberry Lush, Fabulous (x2), Dirty Jeans
Line3: Sugar Plum, Glam Girl, Violet, Pinky Swear
Line4: Pixie, Secretive, Strawberry Cupcake

Line1: Leather & Lace, Sterling Glitz, Graffiti, Gold Digger
Annoyingly neither Leather & Lace or Graffiti had any visible glitter in them. The formula was a bit grainy so im assuming that there was glitter in it, you just cant tell when you use it....

Line2: Blueberry Lush, Fabulous, Dirty Jeans
I did my best to capture the gold sheen in Dirty Jeans, which i think came out quite good ^_^ considering im normally whinging about my cameras inability to capture the different hues in some of my pigments

Line3: Sugar Plum, Glam Girl, Violet, Pinky Swear
Violet was a bit of a let down, its not as sheer as it appears here, but it isnt as vibrant as i would have expected. Pinky Swear was probably the most suprising because as i moved it under the light a blue hue was brought out of which was gorgeous (insert whinging about stupid camera here -.-" )

Line4: Pixie, Secretive, Strawberry Cupcake
I think the angle that i was taking this photo was just plain wrong - all these shades are much brighter and Secretive even has a hot pink highlight to it when moved under the light =/

I think my favourite colours are
- Dirty Jeans
- Sugar Plum
- Fabulous

- Pinky Swear
- Secretive
- Sterling Glitz

Have you ever ordered from Glamour Doll Eyes?
What do you think of their colours?
Has anybody else had the same problem with Leather & Lace and Graffitit?

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Review

Hey guys

Lol at the length of this title - i couldn't think of a way to shorten it..ow well

As you may already know i live in Australia (der!). Right know we are heading into the summer season and its already getting ridiculously hot and lots of people, i myself included, are already getting sunburned =(

I know it sounds stupid and its pretty obvious that if you're getting burnt you should put on sunscreen right? Well sadly i don't like the greasy feeling that you get from wearing sunscreen (seriously, does anyone?) so i generally avoid putting it on my face. A few weeks ago my mum was out shopping an she picked up this awesome new product from Neutrogena, its a Dry-touch 30+spf sunscreen lotion. When i first saw i was like "yeah, as if that's going to work" but when i tried i was totally amazed. It seriously rubs into your skin without leaving any oily/greasy feeling and is so lightweight you can't even tell you're wearing it!

I've tested it out a few times by wearing both my normal foundation and a face powder on top of it to see if it caused the makeup to cake and rub off during the day and it made me so excited to find out that all my makeup stayed perfect throughout the day and it even stopped the oilyness i get in my t-zone on hot days from seeping through my primer!
I'm not sure how much it actually is because i don't have the receipt but honestly for sun protection that doesn't leave you're skin feeling oily and disgusting (and that still allows you to wear makeup on top) who cares?

I will definatly be buying this again and i highly recommend it to anybody who wants to protect their skin from the sun (remember guys sun exposure gives you wrinkles at a younger age!!!)

Pixie Epoxy Review

Hey guys!

So as you know last week i got my Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy sample. It came in a tiny jar with a flip top lip.

Fyrinnae describes this product as:

"...is not an eye shadow primer, or really a base. It is to keep sparkles on or to make shimmery shadows appear "glossy". This "glue" is designed to hold the sparkliest, most shimmery eye shadows in place and minimize "fallout". Can also be used to retain a "wet" or "glossy" look to loose shadows. Don't worry, it's easily washed off, and while keeps shadows in a water-resistant state, the product itself is water-soluble (no silicones or oils). "

I've been using this for a few days now and i found that it really does work!

It intensified my Shadows, makes them last twice as long as they would normally and prevents nearly all of the fallout. I've tried it over my Lip Lustres and and lip sticks - it works really well the seal in the colour and make it last for so long (until you eat of course)

Even though the shadows look wet they really aren't, its super easy to blend them and the pigments can be "swept" over the epoxy rather than patted, which also makes blending that much easier!
The one thing that i really love about this product is its tackyness. it literally grabs onto the shadow without any rubbing or serious work.

If your looking for something that is going to make your shadows more vibrant and last longer i highly recommend trying this out. Get a sample like i did (it was like $1US, so worth it!) and you will realise hope much you needed this.
